Down in Augusta, police were conducting a project with a big name: Operation Rolling Thunder. It was an operation aimed at getting a handle on drunk drivers. Of course, with such a big name, I would think some media attention might be helpful.
And low and behold, the media attention is here, after police say a local media celebrity came rolling, or perhaps swerving through. However, this WRDW-TV Anchor/Reporter cutie Christie Ethridge wasn’t there to do any reporting.
According to police, the Anchor/Reporter was stopped around 2:30 a.m. in Richmond County, in what was described as the final night of Operation Rolling Thunder.
Ethridge, 23, was arrested after they say she was found to be impaired.
The Anchor/Reporter was booked into the Richmond County Jail, charged with DUI, and has been released on bond.
According to WRDW’s website, Christie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia with a degree in Digital and Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish. While at UGA, she reported, produced, edited and shot video for Grady Newsource, northeast Georgia’s only local newscast. She began working for WRDW in July 2012, according to her LinkedIn profile. She grew up in Peachtree City, Georgia.
